1. Propylene Glycol

3. Imidazolidinyl Urea and DMDM Hydantoin

4. DEA (Diethanolamine), MEA (monoethanolamine), and TEA (Triethanolamine)

Are known to form cancer-causing nitrates and nitrosamines. They are clear, colorless, thick liquids with ammonia-like odors.

Also acts as a pH adjuster, counteracting the acidity of other ingredients.

(MEA or ETA)

Monoethanolamine is also known as Ethanolamine. Its primary use is for feedstock in the production of detergents, emulsifiers, polishes, pharmaceuticals, corrosion inhibitors, and chemical intermediates.

TEA (Triethanolamine)
It is used as a buffering agent, masking and fragrance ingredient, and surfactant, in addition to its primary use as a pH adjuster.

5. FD & C Color Pigments/Synthetic colors
These synthetic colors are derived from petroleum or coal tar sources. Synthetic colors are suspected to be a human carcinogen. Consider using Henna hair dye for a natural, healthy hair dye alternative.

6. Chlorine
This chemical is known as an oxidizing agent, it strips our hair of their natural oils, and leaves us looking dry. The reaction of melanin pigments with chlorine changes natural hair color to straw color of keratin. like black to blond.

7. Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)
This chemical can be found in conditioner, strips the natural moisture of your hair. This contains Dioxin that may cause harmful health effects, including hormonal problems, infertility, and cancer.

8. Fragrance (Synthetic)
Even though this chemical can make you feel fresh and clean, this is carcinogenic and toxic. One effect of fragrance is hormonal disorder. Phthalates or a salt/ ester of phthalic acid are used to some product to make the smell last longer which is also an endocrine disruptor.
