Four fabulous yet simple ways to tie a HEADWRAP fashionably

Headwraps are a major fashion comeback from the 90s and their versatility is just amazing. What’s even better is the fact that they help to transform your bad hair day to a trendy fashion look; with just an accessory!

Headwraps are a fashion statement that not only makes you look chic and transform your basic outfit into a totally different look but also gives your hair adequate protection from the elements like sun, humid weather, etc.

To execute these styles, you will need a long or at least a medium-sized scarf that can go round your head twice.

The gigantic bow

This is a nice touch for when you want to spice up your subtle dressing or make a bold outfit even bolder. It is bold and stands out (well, it’s hard for a giant bow not to). Here’s how to do it;

  • Start by pulling your hair into a bun on the top of your head. Fold your scarf into two and place it at the back of your head; make sure it covers your nape. Pull it towards the front of your head and tie it once.
  • Next, fold the fabric at both sides into a bow, according to how you want it to be
  • Tuck the ends of the wrap back into the scarf or into the bow flaps.

(You can also place bow at sides of your hair if you like)

The headwrap band

This is a personal favourite of mine and it’s also a very simple way to tie a headwrap; it can be done in less than two minutes. Rock this style with casual outfits or when you’re in no mood to do your edges.

  • Pull your hair up into a bun and secure it with a snag-free elastic band before placing the folded headwrap at the back of your head.
  • Next, pull it to the front of your head and knot it twice
  • After this, pull the ends back towards your nape and tuck them into the scarf

The spiral headwrap

This look is another fav of mine and it’s simple but an uplift from the headwrap band. Here is how to do it;

  • Fold your headwrap into two and place at the nape of your neck before pulling the ends towards the front of your head
  • Next, knot the ends of the scarf once and hold them apart
  • Twist the ends together like in a braid, do this until you reach the end of the material
  • Spin the material in a circle at the crown of your head and tuck the ends into the scarf

The twisted headwrap

I really like this headwrap style especially when I rock it with some big hoop earrings, it’s just so beautiful and classy! Yet very simple.

Here is how to do it;

  • Fold your scarf in two and place it at the back of your head
  • Next, knot hold the ends together and start twisting till you get to the end of the material
  • Tuck the end into the other side of your head where it stops

That’s it, girls. Which of these styles have you tried out and which one is your favourite?
