Deep Conditioning: Restore Softness, Stop Breakage

Why It Works
A regular conditioner coats the surface of your hair and rinses away in two minutes. A deep conditioner is built differently: richer, thicker, and meant to sit. Given 20–30 minutes — especially with a little gentle warmth — it works past the surface and into the hair shaft, filling the tiny gaps in a damaged cuticle and restoring the moisture that makes hair stretch instead of snap. That is why deep-conditioned hair feels softer, looks shinier, and breaks less: it is not just coated, it is actually conditioned.
How To
- Start clean and damp: Shampoo first, then gently squeeze out excess water. Hair should be damp, not dripping — too much water dilutes the treatment.
- Apply generously, ends first: Section your hair and work the conditioner through from mid-lengths to ends first (the oldest, driest part), then lightly over the roots.
- Add gentle heat: Cover with a shower cap and a warm towel, or sit under a hooded dryer, for 20–30 minutes. Warmth helps the treatment sink in. No heat? Leave it a full 30 minutes.
- Detangle while it sits: With the treatment in, finger-detangle or use a wide-tooth comb, working from the ends up. Hair is at its most flexible — and least likely to break — right now.
- Rinse cool, then seal: Rinse with cool water to help close the cuticle, then smooth a light layer of GlammedNaturallyOil over your hair to lock the moisture in. Repeat weekly — twice a week if your hair is very dry or damaged.
