How To Figure Out A Hair Routine That Works For You

It’s great to finally get products that work for your hair type without stressing over any side effects on your hair or even your pocket. More important however, is how you plan to use those products effectively - I am talking about your hair routine.

Your hair routine is basically made up of all the steps you take regularly to care for your hair; from washing your hair to oiling, trimming and styling it as well.

Now, to establish a good hair routine, you need to consider your lifestyle, hair type and hair needs as well. These factors will help you create a hair schedule you can easily stick to so your hair gets all its needs satisfied and you don’t miss any hair day! A hair routine will also save you a lot of time since you know what needs to be done and when.

Just like a skincare routine, a hair care routine will help you adequately care for your hair, leaving it nourished, healthy, soft and growing longer everyday.

Here are some important elements you will need to factor into your hair routine:

Wash day:

(pre-pooing, detangling, shampooing, conditioning, deep conditioning, drying and moisturizing)

Wash day is the most important day for your hair as it’s when you get to wash out all the dirt and get your hair feeling neat and refreshed. Typically, you should wash your hair at least once to twice in two weeks depending on how oily your hair gets.

However, if you hit the gym regularly or your lifestyle exposes you to a lot of dust, you can wash your hair more often. Make sure you use cold or lukewarm water as hot water can be too harsh on your scalp.

Hair Wash Day involves steps before, during and after you wash your hair. All of which must be done carefully for maximum hair care.

To get the best out of hair wash day, I recommend using the Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner which soothes and cleans your hair without stripping it of its natural oils.

Pre-poo

Oil Massage:

Using essential organic oils on your hair is a must. Oils like Jojoba, Castor or Hair Growth Oil help to seal in moisture after you hydrate your hair and this prevents breakage, dryness or flaking.

You should massage your hair with carrier or essential oils once a week. I usually mix my Hair Growth Oil (contains multiple essential oils) with Jojoba or Castor Oils (which are carrier oils) for the best effect. Make sure to apply to every part of your hair evenly.

Hair Trimming:

Trimming your hair to get rid of split ends is an absolute necessity so you have to find a place for it in your routine. Split ends if not taken care of can end up taking whole strands of hair with them, leading to hair breakage and loss of length. Trimming your hair also helps it look neater as split ends give your hair a rough outlook.

You should trim your hair at least once in two to three months depending on how fast your hair grows. If going to the salon is not feasible, you can trim it yourself by doing it in front of a mirror that allows you to see the back of your head easily.

Hair Protection:

It’ll do you a lot of good to always protect your hair, either from harsh weather by wearing a hat or scarf. You should also protect your hair at night by wearing a hair bonnet made of silk or satin to bed, every night. This locks the moisture into your hair and alo prevents pulling and tugging while you toss or turn during sleep.

Mask Treatment:

Making some good ol’ hair mask for your hair from ingredients at home is also something you should add to your routine. The best part is that these natural ingredients can be sourced from your kitchen and these ingredients are very nutritious for your hair i.e avocado, banana, olive oil, lemons, honey, coconut oil etc

Check out this list of hair masks you can make right from your kitchen.

A hair mask solution should be used on your hair at least once every three weeks.

See a stylist regularly:

Although a lot of natural hair care involves DIYs right from your kitchen, it is totally advisable to see a stylist at least once in two months to get an all out hair makeover. A stylist with expert knowledge can alert you on any hair issues you may not know about or just give you better advice on how to take care of your hair. You can get dandruff treatment as well, if you’re prone.

Finding a good natural hair stylist can be tasking though!

Take Supplements:

Hair supplements like the Biotin Gummies we have in stock will do wonders to supplement your hair growth especially if you need a little help to boost up your growth rate and hair health.

You should take your supplements everyday for healthy, thicker and longer hair.

It’s a given that you should Moisturize and hydrate your hair at least once every two days depending on how dry your hair gets. However, be careful not to use too many products on your scalp to prevent clogging up your pores.

It is very important to know your hair type and what works for you to be able to properly create your hair routine. So tell me, what’s your hair routine like?
